I live in Grafton in northern NSW, where I write fiction. I also run a community writing project called The Long Way Home.

My short story collection, Bird Country, was published by Text in 2017. It’s got sailors, uninvited guests, bridge-jumpers and bird-fanciers. Birds everywhere. Tales of love and loss, friendship and betrayal, happiness and pain was how Text described it. It was shortlisted for the Steele Rudd Award and the Colin Roderick Award.
My stories have won the Olga Masters, Neilma Sidney, David Harold Tribe, E J Brady, Wet Ink and Hal Porter prizes. Stories have appeared in Island, Southerly, Australian Short Stories, Griffith Review, Heat, Best Australian Stories, New Australian Stories, Spineless Wonders publications, The Big Issue, Australian Book Review, the Furphy Anthology, and the Newcastle Story Anthology.
Two stories have been short-listed in the Elizabeth Jolley Award.
I’m very happy my story Driving With Goats has found its way into the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Writing shortlist this year!
